Young Innovators Competition is a competition open within the event "ITU Telecom World 2012" which will be held in Dubai from 14th to 18th October 2012 under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union. This competition is an opportunity for young ICT entrepreneurs to appear on the world ICT stage with their ideas in the field of digital creativity.

The main purpose of this competition is to enable young people to use their talents and knowledge in the domain of new technologies, towards creating innovative solutions for actual problems in the world and thereby contributing to create a better future. Finalists will be invited at ITU Telecom World 2012" in Dubai, where they will receive the mentorship of industry representatives in addition to valuable prizes. Also, they will get the chance to take part in interactive workshops, to present their projects to professional and influential audience that will attend the event and to connect with important representatives of industry, public sector, academic institutions. The opportunity to compete for a prize is provided both to projects that are still in the conceptual phase, as well as to those that are in their mature, well-advanced phase.

The organizers specified the following conditions for participation: Competition participants shall be aged 18-25 and sign up for the competition with their innovative ideas or projects in the field of ICT. Also, it is desirable that the participants be social entrepreneurs, i.e. persons who recognize social problems and use innovative, entrepreneurial methods to manage a venture that leads to social change.
